| CVE-2016-1000343 | 3 Bouncycastle, Debian, Redhat | 5 Bc-java, Debian Linux, Jboss Fuse and 2 more | 2025-05-12 | N/A |
| In the Bouncy Castle JCE Provider version 1.55 and earlier the DSA key pair generator generates a weak private key if used with default values. If the JCA key pair generator is not explicitly initialised with DSA parameters, 1.55 and earlier generates a private value assuming a 1024 bit key size. In earlier releases this can be dealt with by explicitly passing parameters to the key pair generator. | ||||
| CVE-2016-1000344 | 2 Bouncycastle, Redhat | 4 Bc-java, Jboss Fuse, Satellite and 1 more | 2025-05-12 | N/A |
| In the Bouncy Castle JCE Provider version 1.55 and earlier the DHIES implementation allowed the use of ECB mode. This mode is regarded as unsafe and support for it has been removed from the provider. | ||||
| CVE-2016-1000345 | 3 Bouncycastle, Debian, Redhat | 5 Bc-java, Debian Linux, Jboss Fuse and 2 more | 2025-05-12 | N/A |
| In the Bouncy Castle JCE Provider version 1.55 and earlier the DHIES/ECIES CBC mode vulnerable to padding oracle attack. For BC 1.55 and older, in an environment where timings can be easily observed, it is possible with enough observations to identify when the decryption is failing due to padding. | ||||
| CVE-2016-1000346 | 3 Bouncycastle, Debian, Redhat | 5 Bc-java, Debian Linux, Jboss Fuse and 2 more | 2025-05-12 | N/A |
| In the Bouncy Castle JCE Provider version 1.55 and earlier the other party DH public key is not fully validated. This can cause issues as invalid keys can be used to reveal details about the other party's private key where static Diffie-Hellman is in use. As of release 1.56 the key parameters are checked on agreement calculation. | ||||
| CVE-2016-1000352 | 2 Bouncycastle, Redhat | 4 Bc-java, Jboss Fuse, Satellite and 1 more | 2025-05-12 | N/A |
| In the Bouncy Castle JCE Provider version 1.55 and earlier the ECIES implementation allowed the use of ECB mode. This mode is regarded as unsafe and support for it has been removed from the provider. | ||||
| CVE-2016-2427 | 2 Bouncycastle, Google | 2 Bc-java, Android | 2025-05-12 | N/A |
| The AES-GCM specification in RFC 5084, as used in Android 5.x and 6.x, recommends 12 octets for the aes-ICVlen parameter field, which might make it easier for attackers to defeat a cryptographic protection mechanism and discover an authentication key via a crafted application, aka internal bug 26234568. NOTE: The vendor disputes the existence of this potential issue in Android, stating "This CVE was raised in error: it referred to the authentication tag size in GCM, whose default according to ASN.1 encoding (12 bytes) can lead to vulnerabilities. After careful consideration, it was decided that the insecure default value of 12 bytes was a default only for the encoding and not default anywhere else in Android, and hence no vulnerability existed. | ||||
| CVE-2017-13098 | 1 Bouncycastle | 1 Bc-java | 2025-05-12 | N/A |
| BouncyCastle TLS prior to version 1.0.3, when configured to use the JCE (Java Cryptography Extension) for cryptographic functions, provides a weak Bleichenbacher oracle when any TLS cipher suite using RSA key exchange is negotiated. An attacker can recover the private key from a vulnerable application. This vulnerability is referred to as "ROBOT." | ||||
| CVE-2018-1000180 | 5 Bouncycastle, Debian, Netapp and 2 more | 24 Bc-java, Fips Java Api, Debian Linux and 21 more | 2025-05-12 | N/A |
| Bouncy Castle BC 1.54 - 1.59, BC-FJA 1.0.0, BC-FJA 1.0.1 and earlier have a flaw in the Low-level interface to RSA key pair generator, specifically RSA Key Pairs generated in low-level API with added certainty may have less M-R tests than expected. This appears to be fixed in versions BC 1.60 beta 4 and later, BC-FJA 1.0.2 and later. | ||||
| CVE-2018-1000613 | 4 Bouncycastle, Netapp, Opensuse and 1 more | 24 Bc-java, Oncommand Workflow Automation, Leap and 21 more | 2025-05-12 | 9.8 Critical |
| Legion of the Bouncy Castle Legion of the Bouncy Castle Java Cryptography APIs 1.58 up to but not including 1.60 contains a CWE-470: Use of Externally-Controlled Input to Select Classes or Code ('Unsafe Reflection') vulnerability in XMSS/XMSS^MT private key deserialization that can result in Deserializing an XMSS/XMSS^MT private key can result in the execution of unexpected code. This attack appear to be exploitable via A handcrafted private key can include references to unexpected classes which will be picked up from the class path for the executing application. This vulnerability appears to have been fixed in 1.60 and later. | ||||
| CVE-2018-5382 | 2 Bouncycastle, Redhat | 3 Bc-java, Satellite, Satellite Capsule | 2025-05-12 | 4.4 Medium |
| The default BKS keystore use an HMAC that is only 16 bits long, which can allow an attacker to compromise the integrity of a BKS keystore. Bouncy Castle release 1.47 changes the BKS format to a format which uses a 160 bit HMAC instead. This applies to any BKS keystore generated prior to BC 1.47. For situations where people need to create the files for legacy reasons a specific keystore type "BKS-V1" was introduced in 1.49. It should be noted that the use of "BKS-V1" is discouraged by the library authors and should only be used where it is otherwise safe to do so, as in where the use of a 16 bit checksum for the file integrity check is not going to cause a security issue in itself. | ||||
| CVE-2019-17359 | 4 Apache, Bouncycastle, Netapp and 1 more | 21 Tomee, Bc-java, Active Iq Unified Manager and 18 more | 2025-05-12 | 7.5 High |
| The ASN.1 parser in Bouncy Castle Crypto (aka BC Java) 1.63 can trigger a large attempted memory allocation, and resultant OutOfMemoryError error, via crafted ASN.1 data. This is fixed in 1.64. | ||||
| CVE-2020-28052 | 4 Apache, Bouncycastle, Oracle and 1 more | 27 Karaf, Bc-java, Banking Corporate Lending Process Management and 24 more | 2025-05-12 | 8.1 High |
| An issue was discovered in Legion of the Bouncy Castle BC Java 1.65 and 1.66. The OpenBSDBCrypt.checkPassword utility method compared incorrect data when checking the password, allowing incorrect passwords to indicate they were matching with previously hashed ones that were different. | ||||
