CVSS v3.1 |
| Sandbox escape due to uninitialized memory in the DOM: Web Serial component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158, Firefox ESR 153.5, Thunderbird 158, and Thunderbird 153.5. |
| A flaw was found in m17n-lib. An attacker who supplies crafted input to an application processing ISO-2022 encoded text can cause the library to read uninitialized memory from the stack. If the application exposes or returns the decoded output, this flaw can result in unexpected behavior and limited information disclosure. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: xt_hashlimit: validate hashtable supports XT_HASHLIMIT_RATE_MATCH
The XT_HASHLIMIT_RATE_MATCH flag mode changes the semantics of the
dsthash_ent structure which represents an entry in the hashtable. There
is a union area which uses a different layout to express the rate match
mode.
Update .checkentry path to validate the XT_HASHLIMIT_RATE_MATCH mode
flag is requested by two or more different rules that refer to the same
hashtable. Otherwise, uninitialized access to the burst field in the
union is possible.
Reject the use of the XT_HASHLIMIT_RATE_MATCH mode flag if set on by
revision less than 3 too. |
| libIEC61850 is an open-source implementation of IEC 61850 client and server protocols including MMS, GOOSE, Sampled Values, and R-Session. Prior to 1.6.2, checkDataSetAccess reverses the source and destination arguments to StringUtils_copyStringToBuffer while constructing an MMS_ASSOCIATION_SPECIFIC dataset reference. The helper treats uninitialized dataSetRef[130] storage as a source string, causing strlen to read beyond the stack buffer, and then copies those bytes into the caller-owned listName buffer. A remote defineNamedVariableList request can crash servers that have dynamic dataset service enabled and a dataset access handler installed; the advisory also observes caller stack corruption but establishes denial of service as the primary impact. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.2. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/hyperv: validate resolution_count and fix WIN8 fallback
A SYNTHVID_RESOLUTION_RESPONSE with resolution_count > 64 walks past
the supported_resolution[SYNTHVID_MAX_RESOLUTION_COUNT] array in the
parse loop. Bound resolution_count against the array size, folded
into the existing zero-check.
When the WIN10 resolution probe fails, the caller in
hyperv_connect_vsp() left hv->screen_*_max / preferred_* unpopulated,
which sets mode_config.max_width / max_height to 0 and makes
drm_internal_framebuffer_create() reject every userspace framebuffer
with -EINVAL. The pre-WIN10 branch had the same gap for
preferred_width / preferred_height. Use a single post-probe fallback
guarded by screen_width_max == 0 so both paths converge on the WIN8
defaults. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
s390/zcrypt: Improve CCA CPRB length and overflow checks
The xcrb_msg_to_type6cprb_msgx() function lacks proper input
validation, creating security vulnerabilities:
1. Integer overflow after CEIL4 alignment: Signed int variables could
overflow during 4-byte boundary alignment, causing undersized
buffer allocations or incorrect bounds checking.
2. Missing minimum size validation: The CPRBX structure is copied from
userspace without verifying sufficient buffer length. Undersized
buffers cause uninitialized memory access when reading structure
fields like cprbx.cprb_len and cprbx.domain.
3. Arithmetic overflow in sum calculations: Adding control block and
data block sizes could overflow, bypassing size checks and enabling
buffer overflows.
Fix by using size_t for length calculations, adding U32_MAX boundary
checks after alignment, validating minimum control block size before
copying from userspace, and detecting sum calculation overflows. |
| This vulnerability allows local attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of the Linux Kernel 6.0-rc2. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute high-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the nft_osf_eval function. The issue results from the lack of proper initialization of memory prior to accessing it. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute arbitrary code in the context of the kernel. Was ZDI-CAN-18540. |
| Use of uninitialized variable in ThirdParty lmza_sdk in Google Chrome prior to 155.0.8059.79 allowed a remote attacker to potentially read memory inside the sandbox via a crafted file. (Chromium security severity: High) |
| Uninitialized memory in the Storage: Quota Manager component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox ESR 153.4, Thunderbird 157, Thunderbird 140.17, Thunderbird 153.4, Firefox 157, Firefox ESR 115.42, and Firefox ESR 140.17. |
| A vulnerability was found in libsndfile up to 1.2.2. This issue affects the function wavlike_subchunk_parse of the file src/wavlike.c of the component WAV Parsing. Performing a manipulation results in use of uninitialized variable. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. The exploit has been made public and could be used. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet. |
| In multiple locations, there is a possible out-of-bounds write due to uninitialized data. This could lead to remote escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| Privilege escalation due to uninitialized memory in the Graphics: CanvasWebGL component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 156, Firefox ESR 153.3, Thunderbird 156, and Thunderbird 153.3. |
| A use of uninitialized value vulnerability exists in the Matter SDK (connectedhomeip) before 1.4.0, where the `GetDestinationGroupId().Value()` method is called without first checking whether a value exists. This leads to a crash when an InvokeCommand is sent without initializing the destination group ID. The issue affects all versions before commit 0360cc3 (Dec 5, 2024) and leads to denial of service through SIGABRT. It is fixed by adding a .HasValue() check before access. |
| Uninitialized memory in the Audio/Video component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox ESR 153.4, Thunderbird 157, Thunderbird 140.17, Thunderbird 153.4, Firefox 157, Firefox ESR 115.42, and Firefox ESR 140.17. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: qla2xxx: Zero dport diagnostics buffer to avoid info leak
qla2x00_do_dport_diagnostics() allocates the qla_dport_diag response
buffer with kmalloc_obj() (non-zeroing) and, on success, copies the full
sizeof(*dd) back to user space via sg_copy_from_buffer(). The inbound
sg_copy_to_buffer() only fills as many bytes as the user request payload
provides, and qla26xx_dport_diagnostics() zeroes only dd->buf. The
options and unused[] fields are therefore copied out uninitialized,
leaking kernel heap contents to user space.
Allocate with kzalloc_obj(), matching qla2x00_do_dport_diagnostics_v2(). |
| This vulnerability enables unauthenticated remote code execution (RCE) on a victim's machine by exploiting a combination of cryptographic weaknesses and memory management issues in the SConnect native host component.
The attack leverages an unrestricted messaging interface between an attacker-controlled web page and the native host, allowing malicious input to bypass security checks. |
| NULL Pointer Dereference, Use of Uninitialized Variable vulnerability in Apache Thrift c_glib bindings.
This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue. |
| apcupsd through 3.14.14 discloses uninitialized stack memory in getupsvar() in src/cgi/upsfetch.c (used by upsstats.cgi, multimon.cgi, and upsfstats.cgi. On the single-field path, when the matched STATUS line has fewer than three whitespace-separated tokens, sscanf("%*s %*s %s", answer) performs no assignment but the function returns success, and thus the caller prints the uninitialized destination buffer into the HTTP response. |
| MQTT WebSocket setter ABI mismatch may disclose memory or cause a crash |
| Uninitialized memory in the Graphics: WebGPU component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox ESR 153.4, Thunderbird 157, Thunderbird 153.4, and Firefox 157. |
