CVSS v3.1 |
| A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the GIMP DDS (DirectDraw Surface) file parser. When a crafted DDS file declares a D3D9 pixel format but sets a lower bits-per-pixel (bpp) value in the header, the loader allocates an undersized heap buffer. Subsequent pixel data consumption at the real format's stride causes a write past the heap buffer boundary, leading to heap metadata corruption and potential code execution. |
| A flaw was found in the Seattle FilmWorks plugin in GIMP. When processing a specially crafted SFW image file, the plugin allocates a Variable-Length Array (VLA) on the stack without integer overflow checks, causing an unbounded stack allocation. This issue leads to an application crash, resulting in a denial of service. |
| A flaw was found in the file-pcx plugin in GIMP, affecting 32-bit builds only. When processing a PCX image file, the plugin calculates memory allocation sizes based on the image dimensions and the number of color planes. If a crafted file sets the number of planes to 4 alongside sufficiently large dimensions, the calculation exceeds the 32-bit integer limit and overflows, resulting in an undersized heap-based buffer allocation. This integer overflow issue results in a heap-based buffer overflow when the plugin subsequently writes image data into the undersized buffer, causing memory corruption, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or a denial of service. |
| Substance3D - Sampler versions 5.1.3 and earlier are affected by a Heap-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. |
| A flaw was found in rsyslog. An unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger a heap buffer overflow in the RainerScript `replace()` function by sending specially crafted syslog messages. This vulnerability arises from an incorrect buffer size calculation during string replacement, causing memory corruption. Successful exploitation can lead to a denial of service (DoS) for the affected system. |
| In Bluetooth Mesh SDK 6.1.4 and earlier, malformed extended advertisements can trigger out-of-bounds writes leading to stack corruption and remote code execution. These messages must come from a device that has already joined the network. Only provisioners supporting extended advertisements may be impacted. |
| An unauthenticated attacker can crash the ManageSieve login process by sending a small malformed command before authenticating. If running in high-security mode (default for community releases), only the attacker's own connection is terminated. If running in high-performance mode (default for Pro releases), all connections handled by the same managesieve-login process are terminated. Repeating the attack can cause denial of service for Sieve script management. Restrict network access to the ManageSieve service to trusted clients. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| An attacker that has valid credentials can submit a Sieve script containing an extreme numeric literal, which causes an out-of-bounds write when the ManageSieve service compiles the script. This causes memory corruption and an observed crash of the ManageSieve process, resulting in denial of service for script management. This might be able to be used for remote code execution. Disable the ManageSieve service if users do not need remote Sieve script management. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| An attacker that has valid credentials can open many connections to the imap-hibernate service and send invalid commands, which can intermittently cause an out-of-bounds read and crash the process. The crash interrupts hibernated IMAP sessions handled by the affected process, which can cause degradation of service for IMAP. Disable IMAP hibernation. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| A vulnerability was found in MSI Dragon Center up to 2.0.155.0. Affected by this vulnerability is the function MmioWritePath in the library NTIOLib_X64.sys of the component MMIO Write Path Handler. Performing a manipulation of the argument count/elementSize results in integer overflow. The attack requires a local approach. The exploit has been made public and could be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way. |
| Improper Validation of Specified Quantity in Input vulnerability in Silk Themes Newspapers X allows Malicious Software Implanted.
This issue affects Newspapers X: from 1.0.46 through 1.0.48. |
| None None None No publicly available exploits are known. |
| A host listed as a trusted proxy can send forwarding information containing a NUL byte, which crashes the login process on the following login attempt. The login process is terminated, which can cause degradation or denial of service for logins. Deployments that do not configure trusted proxies are not affected. Restrict the list of trusted proxy networks to hosts that are fully under your control. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| Sieve CPU resource usage is tracked in the compiled script, so an attacker that has valid credentials can reset the accounting by repeatedly changing the active script. Compiled script files are also not removed when a script is deleted or renamed. The configured Sieve CPU limit can be bypassed, allowing sustained CPU consumption, and the leftover files increase disk consumption. Both can cause degradation of service for mail delivery. Monitor system for abnormal CPU usage and disk consumption. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known. |
| A flaw was found in libsolv, a dependency-resolution library used by RPM-based package managers such as dnf and zypper to work with .solv repository cache files. When libsolv rewrites a .solv cache file, it reads directory-id values from the file's compressed filelist data without validating that they fall within the expected range. A corrupted or specially crafted .solv cache file (for example, one left in a torn state after an unclean system shutdown) can cause an out-of-bounds memory write when a tool such as dnf, yum, or zypper next processes it. Successful exploitation is expected to result in a crash of the affected tool (denial of service); it is not expected to allow arbitrary code execution because the out-of-bounds write always stores a fixed, non-attacker-controlled value. |
| A buffer
overflow vulnerability exists in the embedded HTTP service in TL-WR841N v14 when processing
multipart/form-data requests. Insufficient validation of an attacker-controlled
boundary parameter may allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to submit a
crafted request that corrupts memory by overwriting data beyond the bounds of
an internal buffer.
Successful
exploitation may result in modification or corruption of process memory,
potentially leading to undefined application behavior. Arbitrary code
execution, information disclosure, and denial-of-service conditions have not
been demonstrated. |
| An OS command injection vulnerability was found in yast2-users. When displaying the "Password Settings" tab of a user, get_password_term() in src/include/users/dialogs.rb read the shadowLastChange and shadowExpire fields with GetString(), which performs no numeric validation, and passed the resulting string to format_days_after_epoch(). That helper interpolated the value into a shell command executed via Ruby backticks without quoting or escaping.
Impact: an administrator who manages users against an external/federated LDAP directory via `yast2 users` triggers root command execution the moment they view or edit that particular user's "Password Settings" tab. No "join domain" or trust setup is required, just browsing/editing one user entry.
This issue affects yast2-users through 5.0.8. |
| A flaw was found in the file-pix (ESM) plugin in GIMP. When processing a specially crafted PIX image file, the plugin allocates a Variable-Length Array (VLA) on the stack without proper bounds checking, causing an unbounded stack allocation followed by a 21-byte stack over-read. This can result in a denial of service due to stack exhaustion and a limited information disclosure of stack memory contents into an intermediate file. |
| Out-of-bounds read for some Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software for Windows within Ring 0: Kernel may allow a denial of service. Unprivileged software adversary with an unauthenticated user combined with a high complexity attack may enable denial of service. This result may potentially occur via adjacent access when attack requirements are present without special internal knowledge and requires no user interaction. The potential vulnerability may impact the confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (high) of the vulnerable system, resulting in subsequent system confidentiality (none), integrity (none) and availability (high) impacts. |
| A malicious virtual function can invoke the certain command handlers in the SMU, causing a denial of service due to out-of-bounds memory read. |
