| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: silence the warning when evicting inode with dioread_nolock
When evicting an inode with default dioread_nolock, it could be raced by
the unwritten extents converting kworker after writeback some new
allocated dirty blocks. It convert unwritten extents to written, the
extents could be merged to upper level and free extent blocks, so it
could mark the inode dirty again even this inode has been marked
I_FREEING. But the inode->i_io_list check and warning in
ext4_evict_inode() missing this corner case. Fortunately,
ext4_evict_inode() will wait all extents converting finished before this
check, so it will not lead to inode use-after-free problem, every thing
is OK besides this warning. The WARN_ON_ONCE was originally designed
for finding inode use-after-free issues in advance, but if we add
current dioread_nolock case in, it will become not quite useful, so fix
this warning by just remove this check.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
s390/lcs: Fix return type of lcs_start_xmit()
With clang's kernel control flow integrity (kCFI, CONFIG_CFI_CLANG),
indirect call targets are validated against the expected function
pointer prototype to make sure the call target is valid to help mitigate
ROP attacks. If they are not identical, there is a failure at run time,
which manifests as either a kernel panic or thread getting killed. A
proposed warning in clang aims to catch these at compile time, which
reveals:
drivers/s390/net/lcs.c:2090:21: error: incompatible function pointer types initializing 'netdev_tx_t (*)(struct sk_buff *, struct net_device *)' (aka 'enum netdev_tx (*)(struct sk_buff *, struct net_device *)') with an expression of type 'int (struct sk_buff *, struct net_device *)' [-Werror,-Wincompatible-function-pointer-types-strict]
.ndo_start_xmit = lcs_start_xmit,

drivers/s390/net/lcs.c:2097:21: error: incompatible function pointer types initializing 'netdev_tx_t (*)(struct sk_buff *, struct net_device *)' (aka 'enum netdev_tx (*)(struct sk_buff *, struct net_device *)') with an expression of type 'int (struct sk_buff *, struct net_device *)' [-Werror,-Wincompatible-function-pointer-types-strict]
.ndo_start_xmit = lcs_start_xmit,
^~~~~~~~~~~~~~
->ndo_start_xmit() in 'struct net_device_ops' expects a return type of
'netdev_tx_t', not 'int'. Adjust the return type of lcs_start_xmit() to
match the prototype's to resolve the warning and potential CFI failure,
should s390 select ARCH_SUPPORTS_CFI_CLANG in the future. |

vidtv_bridge_probe+0x766/0xa40 [dvb_vidtv_bridge]
...
It is because the error handling in vidtv_bridge_dvb_init() is wrong.
First, vidtv_bridge_dmx(dev)_init() will clean themselves when fail, but
goto fail_dmx(_dev): calls release functions again, which causes
use-after-free.
Also, in fail_fe, fail_tuner_probe and fail_demod_probe, j = i will cause
out-of-bound when i finished its loop (i == NUM_FE). And the loop
releasing is wrong, although now NUM_FE is 1 so it won't cause problem.
Fix this by correctly releasing everything. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: ath9k: avoid uninit memory read in ath9k_htc_rx_msg()
syzbot is reporting uninit value at ath9k_htc_rx_msg() [1], for
ioctl(USB_RAW_IOCTL_EP_WRITE) can call ath9k_hif_usb_rx_stream() with
pkt_len = 0 but ath9k_hif_usb_rx_stream() uses
__dev_alloc_skb(pkt_len + 32, GFP_ATOMIC) based on an assumption that
pkt_len is valid. As a result, ath9k_hif_usb_rx_stream() allocates skb
with uninitialized memory and ath9k_htc_rx_msg() is reading from
uninitialized memory.
Since bytes accessed by ath9k_htc_rx_msg() is not known until
ath9k_htc_rx_msg() is called, it would be difficult to check minimal valid
pkt_len at "if (pkt_len > 2 * MAX_RX_BUF_SIZE) {" line in
ath9k_hif_usb_rx_stream().
We have two choices. One is to workaround by adding __GFP_ZERO so that
ath9k_htc_rx_msg() sees 0 if pkt_len is invalid. The other is to let
ath9k_htc_rx_msg() validate pkt_len before accessing. This patch chose
the latter.
Note that I'm not sure threshold condition is correct, for I can't find
details on possible packet length used by this protocol. |

USB: gadget: Fix use-after-free during usb config switch
In the process of switching USB config from rndis to other config,
if the hardware does not support the ->pullup callback, or the
hardware encounters a low probability fault, both of them may cause
the ->pullup callback to fail, which will then cause a system panic
(use after free).
The gadget drivers sometimes need to be unloaded regardless of the
hardware's behavior.

It was found that within a critical section of spin_lock_irqsave in
sidtab_context_to_sid(), convert_context() (hooked by
sidtab_convert_params.func) might cause the process to sleep via
allocating memory with GFP_KERNEL, which is problematic.
As Ondrej pointed out [1], convert_context()/sidtab_convert_params.func
has another caller sidtab_convert_tree(), which is okay with GFP_KERNEL.
Therefore, fix this problem by adding a gfp_t argument for
convert_context()/sidtab_convert_params.func and pass GFP_KERNEL/_ATOMIC
properly in individual callers.

cancel_delayed_work() may fail to cancel it. This can lead to
use-after-free scenarios where mvs_free() frees the mvs_info while
mvs_work_queue() is still executing and attempts to access the
already-freed mvs_info.
A typical race condition is illustrated below:
CPU 0 (remove) | CPU 1 (delayed work callback)
mvs_pci_remove() |
mvs_free() | mvs_work_queue()
cancel_delayed_work() |
kfree(mvi) |
| mvi-> // UAF
Replace cancel_delayed_work() with cancel_delayed_work_sync() to ensure
that the delayed work item is properly canceled and any executing
delayed work item completes before the mvs_info is deallocated.

accel/amdxdna: Fix an integer overflow in aie2_query_ctx_status_array()
The unpublished smatch static checker reported a warning.
drivers/accel/amdxdna/aie2_pci.c:904 aie2_query_ctx_status_array()
warn: potential user controlled sizeof overflow
'args->num_element * args->element_size' '1-u32max(user) * 1-u32max(user)'
Even this will not cause a real issue, it is better to put a reasonable
limitation for element_size and num_element. Add condition to make sure
the input element_size <= 4K and num_element <= 1K. |

ALSA: wavefront: Fix integer overflow in sample size validation
The wavefront_send_sample() function has an integer overflow issue
when validating sample size. The header->size field is u32 but gets
cast to int for comparison with dev->freemem
Fix by using unsigned comparison to avoid integer overflow. |

smack: fix bug: unprivileged task can create labels
If an unprivileged task is allowed to relabel itself
(/smack/relabel-self is not empty),
it can freely create new labels by writing their
names into own /proc/PID/attr/smack/current
This occurs because do_setattr() imports
the provided label in advance,
before checking "relabel-self" list.
This change ensures that the "relabel-self" list
is checked before importing the label. |

BUG: spinlock recursion on CPU#0, ifconfig/2420
lock: terminate_lock.2+0x0/0x1c, .magic: dead4ead, .owner: ifconfig/2420, .owner_cpu: 0
While creating the stack trace, the unwinder uses the stack pointer to guess
the previous frame to read the previous stack pointer from memory. The crash
happens, because the unwinder tries to read from unaligned memory and as such
triggers the unalignment trap handler which then leads to the spinlock
recursion and finally to a deadlock.
Fix it by checking the alignment before accessing the memory. |

netconsole: Acquire su_mutex before navigating configs hierarchy
There is a race between operations that iterate over the userdata
cg_children list and concurrent add/remove of userdata items through
configfs. The update_userdata() function iterates over the
nt->userdata_group.cg_children list, and count_extradata_entries() also
iterates over this same list to count nodes.
Quoting from Documentation/filesystems/configfs.rst:
> A subsystem can navigate the cg_children list and the ci_parent pointer
> to see the tree created by the subsystem. This can race with configfs'
> management of the hierarchy, so configfs uses the subsystem mutex to
> protect modifications. Whenever a subsystem wants to navigate the
> hierarchy, it must do so under the protection of the subsystem
> mutex.
Without proper locking, if a userdata item is added or removed
concurrently while these functions are iterating, the list can be
accessed in an inconsistent state. For example, the list_for_each() loop
can reach a node that is being removed from the list by list_del_init()
which sets the nodes' .next pointer to point to itself, so the loop will
never end (or reach the WARN_ON_ONCE in update_userdata() ).
Fix this by holding the configfs subsystem mutex (su_mutex) during all
operations that iterate over cg_children.
This includes:
- userdatum_value_store() which calls update_userdata() to iterate over
cg_children
- All sysdata_*_enabled_store() functions which call
count_extradata_entries() to iterate over cg_children
The su_mutex must be acquired before dynamic_netconsole_mutex to avoid
potential lock ordering issues, as configfs operations may already hold
su_mutex when calling into our code. |

can: kvaser_usb: leaf: Fix potential infinite loop in command parsers
The `kvaser_usb_leaf_wait_cmd()` and `kvaser_usb_leaf_read_bulk_callback`
functions contain logic to zero-length commands. These commands are used
to align data to the USB endpoint's wMaxPacketSize boundary.
The driver attempts to skip these placeholders by aligning the buffer
position `pos` to the next packet boundary using `round_up()` function.
However, if zero-length command is found exactly on a packet boundary
(i.e., `pos` is a multiple of wMaxPacketSize, including 0), `round_up`
function will return the unchanged value of `pos`. This prevents `pos`
to be increased, causing an infinite loop in the parsing logic.
This patch fixes this in the function by using `pos + 1` instead.
This ensures that even if `pos` is on a boundary, the calculation is
based on `pos + 1`, forcing `round_up()` to always return the next
aligned boundary. |

Bluetooth: btusb: mediatek: Avoid btusb_mtk_claim_iso_intf() NULL deref
In btusb_mtk_setup(), we set `btmtk_data->isopkt_intf` to:
usb_ifnum_to_if(data->udev, MTK_ISO_IFNUM)
That function can return NULL in some cases. Even when it returns
NULL, though, we still go on to call btusb_mtk_claim_iso_intf().
As of commit e9087e828827 ("Bluetooth: btusb: mediatek: Add locks for
usb_driver_claim_interface()"), calling btusb_mtk_claim_iso_intf()
when `btmtk_data->isopkt_intf` is NULL will cause a crash because
we'll end up passing a bad pointer to device_lock(). Prior to that
commit we'd pass the NULL pointer directly to
usb_driver_claim_interface() which would detect it and return an
error, which was handled.
Resolve the crash in btusb_mtk_claim_iso_intf() by adding a NULL check
at the start of the function. This makes the code handle a NULL
`btmtk_data->isopkt_intf` the same way it did before the problematic
commit (just with a slight change to the error message printed). |
