CVE-2026-68178 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: misc: nsm: pin the module while the device is open misc_open() installs a misc driver's file operations with fops_get(), which pins file_operations::owner before replacing the file's f_op. The NSM misc device leaves nsm_dev_fops.owner unset, so opening /dev/nsm does not take a module reference on the nsm driver. If the driver is built as a module, an open file descriptor can therefore survive rmmod of the module that provides its ioctl callbacks. A later ioctl through that descriptor can call into unloaded module text. Set nsm_dev_fops.owner to THIS_MODULE so the misc core holds the module while any /dev/nsm file descriptor is open, matching the lifetime expectation for the installed file operations.
CVE-2026-68116 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 7.9 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vxlan: mdb: Fix source list corruption on a failed replace When replacing the source list of an MDB remote entry, all existing sources are first marked for deletion and vxlan_mdb_remote_srcs_add() is then called to add the new source list. Sources present in the new list have their deletion mark cleared, and any sources left marked afterwards are removed. If vxlan_mdb_remote_srcs_add() fails partway through, its error path deletes all entries on the remote's source list. That rollback is only correct for its other caller, vxlan_mdb_remote_add(), where the remote was just allocated and the list contains solely entries added during the call. On the replace path the list also holds pre-existing sources, so a failed replace tears them down together with their (S, G) forwarding entries instead of leaving the entry unchanged. This is reachable from an existing (*, G) remote. An EXCLUDE filter that loses sources starts forwarding traffic that should be blocked, while an INCLUDE filter that loses sources drops traffic that should be forwarded. Mark entries created during the current pass with a new VXLAN_SGRP_F_NEW flag. On failure, delete only those entries and clear the deletion mark on the pre-existing ones, so a failed replace leaves the source list untouched. Retain the flag until the whole operation succeeds and then clear it. Also stop vxlan_mdb_remote_src_add() from deleting a pre-existing entry it only looked up when adding that entry's forwarding entry fails.
CVE-2026-64259 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fuse-uring: make a fuse_req on SQE commit only findable after memcpy Bad userspace might try to trick us and send commit SQEs request unique / commit-id of requests that are not even send to fuse-server (io_uring_cmd_done() not called) yet. fuse_uring_commit_fetch() ends the fuse request when the ring entry has a wrong state, but that could have caused a use-after-free with the memcpy operations in fuse_uring_send_in_task(). In order to avoid such races the call of fuse_uring_add_to_pq() is moved after the copy operations and just before completing the io-uring request - malicious userspace cannot find the request anymore until all prepration work in fuse-client/kernel is completed. This also moves fuse_uring_add_to_pq() a bit up in the code to avoid a forward declaration. Also not with a preparation commit, to make it easier to back port to older kernels.
CVE-2026-53233 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netdev: fix double-free in netdev_nl_bind_rx_doit() Sashiko flags that genlmsg_reply() always consumes the skb. The error path calls nlmsg_free(rsp) so we can't jump directly to it. Let's not unbind, just propagate the error to the user. This is the typical way of handling genlmsg_reply() failures. They shouldn't happen unless user does something silly like calling the kernel with an already-full rcvbuf.
CVE-2026-64224 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-12 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeontx2-pf: fix double free in rvu_rep_rsrc_init() rvu_rep_rsrc_init() allocates queue memory before calling otx2_init_hw_resources(). When hardware resource setup fails, otx2_init_hw_resources() already unwinds the partially initialized SQ, CQ, and aura state before returning an error. The representor error path then calls otx2_free_hw_resources() again and can free the same resources a second time. Fix this by splitting the cleanup labels so that a failure from otx2_init_hw_resources() only releases queue memory. Keep the otx2_free_hw_resources() call for failures that happen after hardware resource initialization completed successfully. The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly available. Manual inspection confirms that the bug is still present in v7.1-rc3. Runtime validation was not performed because reproducing this path requires OcteonTX2 representor hardware.
CVE-2025-11838 1 Watchguard 33 Firebox M270, Firebox M290, Firebox M370 and 30 more 2026-08-10 7.5 High
A memory corruption vulnerability in WatchGuard Fireware OS may allow an unauthenticated attacker to trigger a Denial of Service (DoS) condition in the Mobile User VPN with IKEv2 and the Branch Office VPN using IKEv2 when configured with a dynamic gateway peer.
CVE-2026-64377 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-05 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpufreq: qcom-cpufreq-hw: Fix possible double free qcom_cpufreq.data is allocated with devm_kzalloc() in probe() as an array of per-domain data. qcom_cpufreq_hw_cpu_init() stores a pointer to one element of this array in policy->driver_data. qcom_cpufreq_hw_cpu_exit() currently calls kfree() on policy->driver_data. This is not valid because the memory is devm-managed. For the first domain, this can free the devm-managed allocation while the devres entry is still active, leading to a possible double free when the platform device is later detached. For other domains, the pointer may refer to an element inside the array rather than the allocation base. Remove the kfree(data) call and let devres release qcom_cpufreq.data. This issue was found by a static analysis tool I am developing.
CVE-2024-56573 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 7 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: efi/libstub: Free correct pointer on failure cmdline_ptr is an out parameter, which is not allocated by the function itself, and likely points into the caller's stack. cmdline refers to the pool allocation that should be freed when cleaning up after a failure, so pass this instead to free_pool().
CVE-2024-42132 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-08-04 7.6 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bluetooth/hci: disallow setting handle bigger than HCI_CONN_HANDLE_MAX Syzbot hit warning in hci_conn_del() caused by freeing handle that was not allocated using ida allocator. This is caused by handle bigger than HCI_CONN_HANDLE_MAX passed by hci_le_big_sync_established_evt(), which makes code think it's unset connection. Add same check for handle upper bound as in hci_conn_set_handle() to prevent warning.
CVE-2024-40979 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 7.8 High

If suspend is triggered, firmware will be reloaded during resume. As same as before, firmware requests two large segments at first. In ath12k_qmi_msg_mem_request_cb() segment count and size are assigned: ab->qmi.mem_seg_count == 2 ab->qmi.target_mem[0].size == 7077888 ab->qmi.target_mem[1].size == 8454144 Then allocation failed like before and ath12k_qmi_free_target_mem_chunk() is called to free all allocated segments. Note the first segment is skipped because its v.addr is cleared due to allocation failure: chunk->v.addr = dma_alloc_coherent() Also note that this leaks that segment because it has not been freed. While freeing the second segment, a size of 8454144 is passed to dma_free_coherent(). However remember that this segment is allocated at the first time firmware is loaded, before suspend. So its real size is 524288, much smaller than 8454144. As a result kernel found we are freeing some memory which is in use and thus cras ---truncated---
CVE-2024-36890 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 7.8 High

CVE-2026-64372 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-03 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cpufreq: pcc: fix use-after-free and double free in _OSC evaluation pcc_cpufreq_do_osc() calls acpi_evaluate_object() twice for the two-phase _OSC negotiation. Between the two calls it freed output.pointer but left output.length unchanged. Since acpi_evaluate_object() treats a non-zero length with a non-NULL pointer as an existing buffer to write into, the second call wrote into freed memory (use-after-free). The subsequent kfree(output.pointer) at out_free then freed the same pointer a second time (double free). Reset output.pointer to NULL and output.length to ACPI_ALLOCATE_BUFFER after freeing the first result, so ACPICA allocates a fresh buffer for each phase independently.

CVE-2026-43823 1 Apple 1 Swift-crypto 2026-07-23 7.5 High
When initializing an RSA public key from DER or PEM bytes throws an error, the EVP_PKEY* is double-freed: first in the catch block, then in the deinit. This can lead to a crash on future memory allocations. This double-free manifests when BoringSSL cannot decode the public key from the bytes provided. This vulnerability is addressed in swift-crypto version 4.5.1.

CVE-2026-63809 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-07-20 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: use kvfree() for replaced sysctl write buffer proc_sys_call_handler() allocates its temporary sysctl buffer with kvzalloc() and passes it to __cgroup_bpf_run_filter_sysctl(). Since kvzalloc() may fall back to vmalloc() for large allocations, freeing that buffer with kfree() is wrong and can corrupt memory. Use kvfree() to safely handle both kmalloc and kvzalloc()/vmalloc allocations. The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly available. Manual inspection confirms that the bug is still present in v7.1-rc5. Reproduced the bug based on v7.1-rc4 in a QEMU x86_64 guest booted with KASAN and CONFIG_FAILSLAB enabled. To exercise the replacement path, the test tree also included the accompanying fix for the stale ret == 1 check in __cgroup_bpf_run_filter_sysctl(). The reproducer confines failslab injections to the proc_sys_call_handler() range, uses stacktrace-depth=32, and injects fail-nth=1 while writing 8191 bytes to /proc/sys/kernel/domainname from a task in the target cgroup.
