CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
HID: logitech-hidpp: Check maxfield in hidpp_get_report_length()
Do not crash when a report has no fields.
Fake USB gadgets can send their own HID report descriptors and can define report
structures without valid fields. This can be used to crash the kernel over USB. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: iris: Add missing platform data entries for SM8750
Two platform-data fields for SM8750 were missed:
- get_vpu_buffer_size = iris_vpu33_buf_size
Without this, the driver fails to allocate the required internal
buffers, leading to basic decode/encode failures during session
bring-up.
- max_core_mbps = ((7680 * 4320) / 256) * 60
Without this capability exposed, capability checks are incomplete and
v4l2-compliance for encoder fails. |
| Issue summary: During processing of a crafted CMS EnvelopedData message
with KeyAgreeRecipientInfo a NULL pointer dereference can happen.
Impact summary: Applications that process attacker-controlled CMS data may
crash before authentication or cryptographic operations occur resulting in
Denial of Service.
When a CMS EnvelopedData message that uses KeyAgreeRecipientInfo is
processed, the optional parameters field of KeyEncryptionAlgorithmIdentifier
is examined without checking for its presence. This results in a NULL
pointer dereference if the field is missing.
Applications and services that call CMS_decrypt() on untrusted input
(e.g., S/MIME processing or CMS-based protocols) are vulnerable.
The FIPS modules in 3.6, 3.5, 3.4, 3.3 and 3.0 are not affected by this
issue, as the affected code is outside the OpenSSL FIPS module boundary. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
comedi: dt2815: add hardware detection to prevent crash
The dt2815 driver crashes when attached to I/O ports without actual
hardware present. This occurs because syzkaller or users can attach
the driver to arbitrary I/O addresses via COMEDI_DEVCONFIG ioctl.
When no hardware exists at the specified port, inb() operations return
0xff (floating bus), but outb() operations can trigger page faults due
to undefined behavior, especially under race conditions:
BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: 000000007fffff90
#PF: supervisor write access in kernel mode
#PF: error_code(0x0002) - not-present page
RIP: 0010:dt2815_attach+0x6e0/0x1110
Add hardware detection by reading the status register before attempting
any write operations. If the read returns 0xff, assume no hardware is
present and fail the attach with -ENODEV. This prevents crashes from
outb() operations on non-existent hardware. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: tegra - Add missing CRYPTO_ALG_ASYNC
The tegra crypto driver failed to set the CRYPTO_ALG_ASYNC on its
asynchronous algorithms, causing the crypto API to select them for users
that request only synchronous algorithms. This causes crashes (at
least). Fix this by adding the flag like what the other drivers do.
Also remove the unnecessary CRYPTO_ALG_TYPE_* flags, since those just
get ignored and overridden by the registration function anyway. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: ctxfi: Don't enumerate SPDIF1 at DAIO initialization
The recent refactoring of xfi driver changed the assignment of
atc->daios[] at atc_get_resources(); now it loops over all enum
DAIOTYP entries while it looped formerly only a part of them.
The problem is that the last entry, SPDIF1, is a special type that
is used only for hw20k1 CTSB073X model (as a replacement of SPDIFIO),
and there is no corresponding definition for hw20k2. Due to the lack
of the info, it caused a kernel crash on hw20k2, which was already
worked around by the commit b045ab3dff97 ("ALSA: ctxfi: Fix missing
SPDIFI1 index handling").
This patch addresses the root cause of the regression above properly,
simply by skipping the incorrect SPDIF1 type in the parser loop.
For making the change clearer, the code is slightly arranged, too. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
smb: server: let send_done handle a completion without IB_SEND_SIGNALED
With smbdirect_send_batch processing we likely have requests without
IB_SEND_SIGNALED, which will be destroyed in the final request
that has IB_SEND_SIGNALED set.
If the connection is broken all requests are signaled
even without explicit IB_SEND_SIGNALED. |
| Apache Log4j Core's XmlLayout https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/layouts.html#XmlLayout , in versions up to and including 2.25.3, fails to sanitize characters forbidden by the XML 1.0 specification https://www.w3.org/TR/xml/#charsets producing invalid XML output whenever a log message or MDC value contains such characters.
The impact depends on the StAX implementation in use:
* JRE built-in StAX: Forbidden characters are silently written to the output, producing malformed XML. Conforming parsers must reject such documents with a fatal error, which may cause downstream log-processing systems to drop the affected records.
* Alternative StAX implementations (e.g., Woodstox https://github.com/FasterXML/woodstox , a transitive dependency of the Jackson XML Dataformat module): An exception is thrown during the logging call, and the log event is never delivered to its intended appender, only to Log4j's internal status logger.
Users are advised to upgrade to Apache Log4j Core 2.25.4, which corrects this issue by sanitizing forbidden characters before XML output. |
| Mozilla Firefox before 2.0.0.8 and SeaMonkey before 1.1.5 can hide the window's titlebar when displaying XUL markup language documents, which makes it easier for remote attackers to conduct phishing and spoofing attacks by setting the hidechrome attribute. |
| Cisco Content Switching Modules (CSM) 4.2 before 4.2.7, and Cisco Content Switching Module with SSL (CSM-S) 2.1 before 2.1.6, when service termination is enabled, allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (reboot) via unspecified vectors related to high network utilization, aka CSCsh57876. |
| The tblinf32.dll (aka vstlbinf.dll) ActiveX control for Internet Explorer 5.01, 6 SP1, and 7 uses an incorrect IObjectsafety implementation, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by requesting the HelpString property, involving a crafted DLL file argument to the TypeLibInfoFromFile function, which overwrites the HelpStringDll property to call the DLLGetDocumentation function in another DLL file, aka "ActiveX Object Vulnerability." |
| The cmdjob utility in Autodesk Backburner 3.0.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands on render servers by queueing jobs that contain these commands. NOTE: this is only a vulnerability in environments in which the administrator has not followed documentation that outlines the security risks of operating Backburner on untrusted networks. |
| The remote_cmds component in Apple Mac OS X 10.4 through 10.4.10 contains a symbolic link from the tftpboot private directory to the root directory, which allows tftpd users to escape the private directory and access arbitrary files. |
| The default configuration of Microsoft Windows uses the Web Proxy Autodiscovery Protocol (WPAD) without static WPAD entries, which might allow remote attackers to intercept web traffic by registering a proxy server using WINS or DNS, then responding to WPAD requests, as demonstrated using Internet Explorer. NOTE: it could be argued that if an attacker already has control over WINS/DNS, then web traffic could already be intercepted by modifying WINS or DNS records, so this would not cross privilege boundaries and would not be a vulnerability. It has also been reported that DHCP is an alternate attack vector. |
| Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.1 and earlier does not prompt users before saving bookmarklets, which allows remote attackers to bypass the same-domain policy by tricking a user into saving a bookmarklet with a data: scheme, which is executed in the context of the last visited web page. |
| buttonpressed.sh in scanbuttond 0.2.3 allows local users to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack on the (1) scan.pnm and (2) scan.jpg temporary files. |
| rsync before 3.0.0pre6, when running a writable rsync daemon that is not using chroot, allows remote attackers to access restricted files via unknown vectors that cause rsync to create a symlink that points outside of the module's hierarchy. |
| zabbix_agentd 1.1.4 in ZABBIX before 1.4.3 runs "UserParameter" scripts with gid 0, which might allow local users to gain privileges. |
| The default configuration of Uber Uploader (UU) 5.3.6 and earlier does not block uploads of (1) .html, (2) .asp, and other possibly dangerous extensions, which allows remote attackers to use these extensions in uploads via (a) uu_file_upload.php, related to uu_file_upload.js and (b) uber_uploader_file.php, related to uber_uploader_file.js, a different issue than CVE-2007-0123. NOTE: the vendor disputes the severity of the issue, noting that it is the administrator's responsibility to "add file extensions that you may or may not want uploaded." |
| Vidalia bundle before 0.1.2.18, when running on Windows and Mac OS X, installs Privoxy with a configuration file (config.txt or config) that contains insecure (1) enable-remote-toggle and (2) enable-edit-actions settings, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions and modify configuration. |
